The wheels are made from a 7075T6 aluminium rim and vulcanized rubber tyres. The tyres are empty inside and work with atmospheric pressure, so they are not inflated .
They are designed to make the tire change as fast and simple.
All wheels are mounted on radial 688zz bearings, achieving a smooth and precise roll, as well as having a shield that protects the balls from dirt and dust. The result is a system with very little maintenance required.
Multiple diameter wheels are available, all designed to work with our Electron brakes.

Installing the wheel/brake onto the leg is very easy. The brake incorporates blocks to prevent it from twisting, once the disk is installed inside the wheel simply insert the axel through the whole unit.
A grub screw located in the leg keeps the whole system in place, plus an additional circlip being added as an additional safety element.

Due to the high quality materials used to produce the Electron Retracts brakes, these are long lasting and can be operated for years without loosing power or any maintenance being required.
Just like with our previous version, the friction produced between the brake disk and the electromagnet is never metal to metal. There is a middle layer produced from a low ware material that separates the disk by about 0,03mm. This prevents any residual magnetism and assures that wheels roll freely once the brakes are deactivated.
